Portfolio Analyst
Altius Search Group is recruiting for a growing financial services company seeking a Portfolio Analyst to evaluate portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and support sound credit and portfolio management decisions.
This position will analyze the quality, performance, and risk characteristics of the company’s financial portfolio. The Portfolio Analyst will monitor key trends, assess borrower performance, and collaborate with multiple departments to develop strategies that protect portfolio assets and support responsible growth.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze portfolio performance, including delinquency levels, defaults, loss trends, concentrations, and exposure limits
Identify early warning indicators and areas of emerging credit or operational risk
Review financial statements, payment history, and borrower performance to evaluate ongoing creditworthiness
Recommend changes to risk ratings based on financial performance and other relevant factors
Develop and support action plans designed to reduce portfolio risk and improve performance
Produce recurring portfolio reports, trend analyses, and management-level presentations
Collaborate with Credit, Sales, Operations, and Asset Management on portfolio strategy and risk-mitigation initiatives
Provide analysis and supporting information for credit committee discussions
Evaluate the effectiveness of existing credit policies, scorecards, and decisioning processes
Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation consistent with internal policies and audit requirements
Assist with special projects involving portfolio analytics, financial modeling, and strategic planning
Job requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
At least three years of experience in portfolio analysis, credit analysis, credit risk, operational risk, or a related financial services role
Strong financial statement analysis and credit assessment capabilities
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience developing financial models
Ability to interpret complex data and clearly communicate findings and risk considerations
Experience working with risk-rating methodologies and portfolio performance metrics
Background in data analytics, including regression analysis or similar statistical techniques
Previous experience in equipment leasing, commercial lending, or another asset-based finance environment
Familiarity with business development functions and commercial decision-making
Experience with credit scorecards or automated decisioning tools is preferred

Compensation
Base salary range: $65,000–$85,000
