Our client, a highly regarded boutique hotel in Atlanta is seeking a talented and dependable Pastry Cook to join its culinary team for an initial 90-day assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary professional who enjoys working in a creative, high-energy hospitality environment and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality pastry and dessert offerings.

The position has the potential to transition into a full-time role following the 90-day assignment based on performance, business needs, and mutual fit.

What You'll Do

The Pastry Cook will support the property's pastry and culinary operations while working closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team.

Job requirements

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and execute pastries, desserts, baked goods, and other menu components according to established recipes and standards

  • Assist with daily pastry production, preparation, plating, and presentation

  • Maintain consistency in quality, flavor, portioning, and presentation

  • Support restaurant, banquet, and special-event pastry needs as required

  • Properly store, rotate, label, and handle ingredients and finished products

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen procedures

  • Assist with inventory and communicate product needs to culinary leadership

  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team during both preparation and service

  • Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen culture

What We're Looking For

  • Previous pastry, baking, or culinary experience in a restaurant, hotel, bakery, or similar professional kitchen environment

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation

  • Solid understanding of basic pastry and baking techniques

  • Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistency

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment

  • Reliable, punctual, organized, and team-oriented

  • Ability to take direction while also working independently

  • Flexibility to work a hospitality schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed

  • Culinary or pastry education is a plus, but hands-on experience and the right attitude are equally valued
