If you're passionate about supporting small business growth through responsible lending and want to contribute to a dynamic team with a national footprint, we want to hear from you.

Job description

Altius Search Group has partnered with a leading national equipment finance firm known for empowering small businesses and franchise operators through innovative financing solutions. We are seeking a Franchise Commercial Credit Analyst to support their franchise lending initiatives and help expand credit capabilities within the small-ticket and middle-market segments.

As a vital member of the credit team, you’ll evaluate new opportunities, assess risk, and ensure sound underwriting in alignment with company credit policies—all while contributing to a values-driven culture that puts customers and small business success first.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze creditworthiness of franchisees and small business applicants through financial statement review, cash flow analysis, and risk modeling.

  • Perform due diligence on business and personal credit history, debt servicing ability, and overall borrower health.

  • Collaborate with originators, underwriters, and legal teams to structure franchise equipment financing deals.

  • Prepare detailed credit memos with recommendations for approval/decline, addressing both financial and non-financial risk factors.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of franchise operating models and unit economics.

  • Ensure credit decisions are aligned with company policies, portfolio goals, and risk appetite.

  • Engage in ongoing monitoring of funded accounts, tracking performance and early warning signs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

  • 2–5 years of commercial credit analysis experience, ideally in equipment finance or franchise lending.

  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, credit scoring models, and lending compliance standards.

  • Familiarity with small-ticket commercial credit underwriting and structured finance solutions.

  • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced underwriting environment.

  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to contribute to a high-performing, mission-driven team.

Preferred Attributes

  • Prior exposure to the franchise finance industry or direct experience underwriting franchise brands.

  • Understanding of small business lending regulations and secured equipment finance structures.

  • Experience with LOS/Credit platforms such as Salesforce, Moody’s RiskCalc, or CreditLens.
