Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization with a mission of creating opportunities through competitive snow sports programs to support athletes in achieving their individual athletic, academic, and personal goals. Founded in 1986, and with a history going back to 1927 with Skyliners Club, the vision of the foundation is to positively impact the life of every athlete we serve with a dedication to our “CHASE” values: Commitment, Honesty, Accountability, Sportsmanship, and Excellence.

Summary

Reporting to the President of the MBSEF Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall financial, operational, cultural, and athletic leadership of the organization.

Direct reports include:

  • Alpine Program Director

  • Nordic Program Director

  • Freeride Program Director

  • HR & Accounting Director

  • Membership Director

  • Events & Financial Development Director

Primary Responsibilities

Operational and Financial Oversight

  • Oversee finance, accounting, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure financial stability and growth.

  • Lead Human Resources management in coordination with the HR & Accounting Director (hiring, performance reviews, conflict resolution, disciplinary action if necessary).

  • Drive organizational planning and strategy.

  • Oversee facility/building management and transportation/fleet management.

  • Provide bimonthly reporting to the Board of Directors and monthly meetings with the Executive Board.

  • Oversee legal and tax consultants.

Fundraising

  • Partner with the Events & Financial Development Director to assist with major MBSEF events (Pole Pedal Paddle, Kids PPP, Ski Swap, Snowball, etc.).

  • Lead or assist with securing new sponsor relationships.

  • Manage and grow major donor relationships.

  • Develop and implement new fundraising strategies.

  • Lead forward-thinking capital and project funding initiatives.

  • Oversee endowment funds and scholarship management.

  • Review and adjust MBSEF policies and procedures as needed.

Communication, Public Relations, and Athletic Leadership

  • Build and maintain relationships with Mt. Bachelor leadership and other MBSEF partners.

  • Serve as primary representative nationally with US Ski & Snowboard and regionally with PNSA.

  • Lead ongoing Club Development & Certification with US Ski & Snowboard.

  • Manage public relations, marketing, and recruiting efforts.

  • Facilitate communication between coaches, parents, and athletes.

  • Establish and lead the cultural and athletic philosophies of MBSEF.

  • Foster alumni relationships and expand alumni involvement.

  • Represent MBSEF in the Central Oregon community and national snow sports community.

  • Work with Program Directors to ensure best-in-class, innovative programming.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience and success in sport management and nonprofit leadership (competitive snowsports experience preferred).

  • Strong financial management experience (budgeting, planning, accounting, reporting).

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proven fundraising success.
